Kanata Lakes is the home of Beaver Pond Trail, which is a 2.0 km loop trail that boasts excellent views of the two beaver ponds. Since 2011, Beaver pond has been provincially protected wetlands that provide habitat for a variety of protected species. Kanata Golf and Country Club, a Clublink owned golf course, is situated right in the heart of the community and known as one of the best maintained courses in the Ottawa area. Also located in Kanata Lakes are the sailing club, bicycle club, as well as a tennis club. The Mlacak Hockey Rink is also located in Kanata Lakes and is the home of the Kanata Knights.
The Kanata Lakes area is just a short walk to the Centrum Shopping Area. There you’ll find Landmark Theatre, many restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores and furniture stores.
